Most of my watercolor paintings have been fanart related, so I wanted to try something more natural. One of the things I love most about the local (Hawaiian) nature/animal paintings is that they're usually very colorful and vibrant, even when the subject might not be. So I wanted to paint a colorful turtle with that in mind. The ocean blending didn't turn out too well, but at least the white crayon worked for the bubbles.
