Can I post info/pictures from Distant Horizon on my site?
NO. I work really hard writing the content and cropping/editing the images on this site, and I don't appreciate seeing my hard work just copy+pasted on other sites.

You may quote parts of an article if you really want to, but do not copy the entire thing. If you want people to read what you're talking about, just post a link to the page you're talking about. And as always, if you use something from this site, give credit back to DH.

Can I use the images listed on your site?
Depends on which images you are talking about. Sprites, icons and wallpapers are free to use (as long as credit back to the artist or Distant Horizon is visible somewhere). Fanart may not be used without permission from the artist. And I would prefer if you did not use the cropped images found in the information and character pages. If you need images, you can find many at Firebender.com and AvatarSpirit.net.

The official art and episode screenshots are free to use, but anything else CAN NOT be used for commerical purposes without the artist's permisson. Yeah, I'm looking at you, Ebay sellers.

How do I "give credit" to Distant Horizon?
Simple. When you use one of my sprites, images, or quotes from an info page, on that same page, write somewhere "______ is from Distant Horizon". And you write what you used in the blank. (example: "Sprites are from Distant Horizon").

I'd prefer if you also had a link back to Distant Horizon, but I understand some sites (like Neopets) don't allow that. So a text link or just Distant Horizon will be fine. If you want a banner to link back to DH with, you can find it here.

How do I send in my fanart/etc?
First, you should check out the the Fanart Guidelines or the Fanfic Guidelines depending on what you want to send in. If it applies, you can Email me your creation(s) by attaching it or inserting it into the email, or send me a link to your creation or fanfic.

Please be sure to also include your name or alias, if you want your email to be listed, and your website if you have one.

Finally, please note that I am unable to post everything that is sent to me. My site space is limited so if you send something in and it's not posted, please don't take it personally.

How do I use the icons?
Very simple. You can...
A) Right-click the icon you like and save it to your computer. From there, you either upload it to your own server, or if the forum/livejournal/etc allows it, you can choose the icon to use from your computer.
B) Right-click the icon you like and choose "properties". A box will pop up and from there you can copy the url of the icon and paste it to where it needs to go.
You can usually choose your icon/avatar in the Edit Your Profile page at the forum/livejournal/whatever. If you want to know how to make your own icons, there are many nice tutorials here.

Will you help me make a layout or a website?
I will try to help when I can, but I don't have a lot of time to give in-depth advice. But I have written a guide for making a website with lots of useful links, which you can find here. You can also find lovely pre-made Avatar layouts by Minty of Avatar's Hangout.

How do you make a blog?
I usually use screenshots from the show, and edit them in Paint Shop Pro 7. I resize them, add borders and an area for the text box, and sometimes use brushes as well. A blog is a lot like a mini layout, except it's all one image, but it still requires good html knowledge, especially for tables and css. Of course, you don't need to know much about html in order to use a blog. ^^; My advice is to learn from example, although I will be writing up a step-by-step guide someday soon.

How do you make sprites?
I use Jasc's Paint Shop Pro 7, and re-color existing sprite bases or make them from scratch. I usually have a few reference pictures of the character or item on hand, so I don't forget any minute details.
